In these cases, we would generally spread the moving process over two days; the first day would be devoted to packing the goods and loading them onto the vehicle ready for transport; on the second day, our crew would leave the depot early in the morning and head towards the new address, unload, site the goods, unpack and return to the depot in Malaga. Deliveries beyond Madrid, Benidorm, and the Algarve would require an overnight stay due to the distance involved. As opposed to removals on a part load basis, which offer limited flexibility to the customer because vehicle time schedules must be adhered to, a dedicated van load enables the client to dictate the exact delivery date of the consignment.

Frequently asked questions:

1. I only have a few boxes to move, can you help me?
To deliver small consignments of less than three cubic metres/100 cubic feet across Spain or to Portugal isn't generally viable. You're best option would be to contact one of the many couriers that specialize in smaller loads(Seur, UPS, DHL, MRW, Ochoa, TNT, etc.). The only drawback is that all items will have to be very well packed, especially the furniture, because of the amount of times your cargo will be handled. It's a known fact that couriers will refuse to transport goods with inadequate packaging.

2. I have no transport, can you take me in the van?
Under Spanish Law it is forbidden to carry passengers in our vehicles. In case of an accident, the penalties would be too severe. Sorry.

3. I'm moving to Madrid/Barcelona, is this a problem?
Moving to busy cities like Madrid and Barcelona often means obtaining special parking permits for vehicles exceeding 3.5 tons in weight. In Madrid, for example, removal companies are obliged to register with the transport department of the Town Hall in order to carry out their services. However, moving companies not based in Madrid can request a special authorization for a particular move. There are other considerations worth mentioning:

Trucks are required to have a valid transport license, MOT and insurance certificate.
The moving company is responsible for positioning "No Parking" signs at least 48hrs prior to the move.
These signs must include the date of the move and the scheduled starting time.
It is forbidden to double park during the moving process and to obstruct the free circulation of traffic.
Safety measures to prevent injury to pedestrians will have to be adopted, such as cordoning off the area.

If the moving company does not comply with any of the above requisites, the move will be stopped and a fine will be issued. The move cannot continue until the authorization has been obtained.

Packing Tips

Not emptying the contents of drawers.
Although it may seem like a good space saving idea, the piece of furniture housing the drawers may suffer damage because of the excessive load. Only leave lightweight, unbreakable items in the drawers.

Folding rugs instead of rolling them.
If rugs are folded they may lose their shape and the creases can take for ages to clear.

Using bin liners to pack breakable items.
These bags offer no protection for fragile items and should only be used for bedding, linen and generally anything soft and light

Not using the most appropriate box.
Heavy items such as books and records should be placed into smaller boxes. There is no point in packing your entire record collection into one large box; spread the load into smaller and more manageable boxes. The weight of any single carton should not exceed 20kgs(44Lbs).

Not using enough wrapping paper.
A sheet of paper might be sufficient protection for a cup but won't do much for a vase or a plate. When packing a box full of breakables, the aim should be to wrap every item so that it becomes padded and is able to absorb a certain degree of pressure. Packing in layers will also contribute to the desired compactness of the box.
