Relocating families to the Costa del Sol's many municipalities can often pose numerous logistical questions. With property prices continuously on the increase, particularly in those areas favoured by the expat community (Mijas-Costa, Marbella, Benalmadena, Estepona and Fuengirola to name a few), a growing number of people are purchasing their dream homes in rural villages, places that until recently were not even contemplated by the many newcomers to Spain. Places like Competa, Padul, La Viñuela and Alcaucin are already frequent destinations. People feel they're getting better value for money and can enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle as opposed to the hustle and bustle of the more popular coastal resorts. Unfortunately for the professional mover, reaching addresses of this nature often entails the need for shuttle or transshipment vehicles. You probably have more chances of winning the lottery than being able to park an articulated vehicle within 20 yards of most of these properties. Anticipating these circumstances, many UK and European moving companies have come to depend on our reliable and cost effective distribution solutions for their clients.
 

The photo slideshow at the bottom of this page attempts to illustrate probably one of the worst deliveries we have come across in our many years of trading. Although the address, in this case, was a house located in the historic centre of Granada, nearby to the famous Alhambra, the access conditions serve as an example of how defying deliveries can become.

The customer had kindly agreed to meet us on the outskirts of Granada because of the difficulty to find his house and the restrictions for delivery vehicles. Once we had parked our vans outside the churchyard we were in for a treat! - a five minute uphill carry from van to house. Sack trucks were deemed useless for most of the job due to the fact that the consignment mainly consisted of furniture. Thankfully the client had managed to convince half a local rugby team to give our crew a hand with the many uphill carries.
